Job Summary

We are currently looking for a Cloud Computing Engineer (R&D) to join our growing start-up team in the exciting positioning and navigation technology field with prospects of developing applications/services for some of the elite companies in the world.

As a cloud computing engineer you will contribute toward designing and implementing highly scalable and distributed data processing systems. The position involves experimenting and stretching big data and parallel processing concepts. You are expected to be comfortable working with flexible but evolving platforms, passionate about cutting edge technologies, willing to dive into details and up for the challenge.
The current role’s requirement is at our Edinburgh, City Centre, UK office. The selected candidate will be rewarded with competitive salary and other benefits.

To be considered for this position you must have:

• Degree in computer science or equivalent topics.
• Previous Experience working with cloud computing systems.
• Demonstrable knowledge in distributed systems, e.g., Spark, Storm, Cassandra or Hadoop.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Solid software development skills, preferably in Java.

Desirable Technical Skills:

• Previous experience with designing test plans.
• Demonstrable ability to measure system performance and scalability.
• Experience in virtualization and hypervisors, such as Kernel-Based Virtual Machine KVM.
• Familiar with using Open Source tools.
