Job Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced and versatile Technical Director who is looking for an exciting and challenging career with hyper-local positioning company sensewhere Limited.

sensewhere Limited is an ambitious start-up in the LBS market. The company provides hyper-local positioning software and database that drives global location services on mobile devices. 

The role of Technical Director is a senior position within the management team that will lead the operations and engineering teams in China region and will work closely with other business divisions internationally. The role comprises of planning, setting up and running all technical activities planned for the mainland China and surrounding countries/regions including activities to support our key launch partner in China.  This is an excellent opportunity to build a career in a successful, growing and exciting organisation with competitive rewards and benefits.

To be considered for this position you must have:

  • Experience or familiarity with location/positioning, navigation and mapping technologies and related business fields
  • Extensive experience combining research and development, software/product development testing and product and team management
  • Experience and/or familiarity with software products and platforms such as JAVA, LAMP, Objective C (iOS), Linux based mobile/embedded platforms such as Android or similar
  • Experience of leading and managing various types of technical teams and team members and other relevant technical business operations
  • Experience with mobile application product launch and support
  • Strong product management experience in the complete project/product lifecycle covering design, development, testing, delivery, documentation, maintenance and improvements.
  • Experience of managing and working with high-availability, multi-user, n-tier, distributed applications and services
  • Experience in managing product demonstrations and providing technical support during trials and evaluations
  • Strong experience in managing and releasing products/services to end users/customers and providing support at any stage of product release and also post release
  • Proven experience of measuring and improving product/service quality and establishing QA process
  • Experience or familiarity with local regulations and standards related to business operations and product development and management
  • Experience of identifying improvements in various product development and management methods and processes and/or in implementing new process and structures in order to improve the product quality and performance
  • Degree qualified in Engineering or Science or similar discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in Engineering and/or product development
